Veloce Interfaces - Virtual 5G

Veloce virtual 5G fronthaul is a complete virtual solution for verifying Radio Unit, Distributed Unit and/or Central Unit design interfaces. It operates by exchanging Ethernet fronthaul protocol frames with the device under test (DUT).

Why Veloce virtual 5G?

The virtual 5G solution comprises an instance of EthG/EthG-DPI software running on the co-model host where the virtual Ethernet xRTL transactor connects to a DUT via Null-PHY (MII interface) or a specialized MPG transactor (PCS interface) within the Veloce emulator. EthG is a software application that runs on the co-model host that is connected to the Veloce emulator. It instantiates a set of BBUs (baseband units) or RUs (Radio Units) with unique user-defined configurations and capabilities. EthG generates 5G Ethernet fronthaul protocol streams such as eCPRI, RoE, O-RAN or standard Ethernet and sends them to connected BBU or RU DUT running on emulator through EthG-DPI over a highly efficient Veloce co-model channel. EthG also receives and analyzes 5G Fronthaul Ethernet Frames that are received from DUT, along with a deep analysis of the performance and validation of the received traffic. The EthG application provides the ability to verify RU or DU DUT by creating an on-the-fly environment of multiple RUs and BBUs connected and communicating with each other.
